News from CCTV News: According to the website of the National Bureau of Statistics, in January and August, industrial enterprises above designated size across the country achieved a total profit of 5.27198 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.7% (calculated on a comparable basis, see Note 2 for details).

1-In August, among industrial enterprises above designated size, state-controlled enterprises achieved a total profit of 1,675.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%; joint-stock enterprises achieved a total profit of 4,071.46 billion yuan, an increase of 20.4%; foreign and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-invested enterprises achieved a total profit of 1,179.47 billion yuan, an increase of 2.3%; private enterprises achieved a total profit of 1,321.32 billion yuan, an increase of 10.4%.

1-In August, the mining industry realized a total profit of 766.15 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 35.1%; the manufacturing industry realized a total profit of 3.96953 billion yuan, an increase of 17.4%; the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry realized a total profit of 536.30 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.0%.

1-In August, industrial enterprises above designated size achieved operating income of 93.09 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%; operating costs incurred were 79.19 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.1%; operating income profit margin was 5.66%, a year-on-year increase of 0.44 percentage points.

At the end of August, the total assets of industrial enterprises above designated size were 197.33 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%; the total liabilities were 115.44 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.0%; the total owners' equity was 81.89 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.7%; the asset-liability ratio was 58.5%, a year-on-year increase of 0.3 percentage points.

At the end of August, the accounts receivable of industrial enterprises above designated size were 29.48 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.0%; the inventory of finished products was 7.36 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.0%.

1-In August, the cost per 100 yuan of operating income of industrial enterprises above designated size was 85.07 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.41 yuan; the expense per 100 yuan of operating income was 8.35 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.14 yuan.

At the end of August, the operating income of industrial enterprises above designated size per 100 yuan of assets was 72.4 yuan, an increase of 0.4 yuan year-on-year; the per capita operating income was 1.922 million yuan, an increase of 125,000 yuan year-on-year; the inventory turnover days of finished goods was 21.3 days, an increase of 0.6 days year-on-year; the average recovery period of accounts receivable was 72.2 days, an increase of 0.9 days year-on-year.

In August, profits of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 4.2% year-on-year.
